PETER JOHNSON is a well-known transport historian who has been writing and researching railway history for over 40 years. While specialising in narrow gauge railways, he has also written books about standard gauge railways, light railways and travelling post offices. This is his twelfth book for Pen & Sword Transport. Now retired after 30 years in local government, he lives in Leicester where he continues to enjoy researching, writing and railway photography.
